The Philadelphia Grotto is a caving club that was chartered in 1947 as a chapter of the National Speleological Society. We are dedicated to cave conservation, exploration, education, and research.

WNS Update
At this point White Nose Syndrome, WNS is still a serious issue. The US Fish & Wildlife Service has issued a statement advising, among other guidelines:
"A voluntary moratorium, effective immediately, on all caving activity in states known to have hibernacula affected by WNS (this includes PA), and all adjoining states, unless conducted as part of an agency-sanctioned research or monitoring project."
