July 8th 2021 Meeting

By , July 1, 2021 11:50 am
Our July Philly Grotto Meeting will be on Thursday the 8th starting at 6:30 at Eagleville Park in Lower Providence.
This is a one time meeting location in an attempt to rotate among different areas during the summer.
We will try to meet at the picnic pavilion by the playground but if that is occupied, there are a couple other spots we can gather. If you don’t see us at the pavilion, check out the covered porch of the Shoemaker house on the way into the park and the gazebo behind that house.
Bring your own food and a chair. Masks are optional as we will be outdoors. Those with caving gear can bring it so we can have a display for newer cavers to see what we wear and carry when we go caving. Call Steve W if you cannot find us
For those interested, Steve would also like to lead an outing prior to the meeting. Contact Steve directly if you’d like more details.

Welcome from the 2020 BoD

By , February 5, 2019 2:49 am

Welcome to the Philly Grotto!

Philadelphia Grotto is a group of enthusiastic cavers who are interested in the world underneath the earth. We travel all over the world in our search for caves and karst. Caving is not only about sport, it also involves learning about geology, hydrology, microorganisms that live in total darkness. This science learned from caves helps our planet grow every day.

Our goal is to promote interest in and to advance the science of speleology, to promote conservation of caves and safety in their exploration. Educate and support those that have the same interest that we do.

Come join us for our monthly meetings to learn more about how can you be involved in the Philadelphia caving community!
